So fresh and so clean, clean! 🎶 There are very few things more satisfying than a good pressure washing!

Before starting the outdoor build with @prowoodlumber I knew this concrete needed one heck of a bath. Quick blow with the @egopowerplus blower and then I pulled out the @craftsman 2400 PSI Pressure Washer and used a turbo nozzle. I consistently have to direct the dirt out to keep it from just moving. Once most is removed, I finish up with a surface attachment to make sure nothing is missed. Believe it or not, we have to clean this several times a year, especially when we’re getting a lot of rain.

One of the next things on my list back here is to install a deck over the existing concrete patio- it’s about a thousand square feet so it’ll be a big job! I’ll have to level this out first to prevent the water from pooling as it has since we bought the house, but I know it’ll be worth it! As much as concrete has its place, it’s hard to love seeing so much of it as soon as you enter your backyard.

In case you needed to hear this- you can only be stopped if you allow yourself to be stopped. Don’t give up, no matter what!

The feeling of mounting the first piece of plywood on my shop walls two years ago was a feeling I’ll never forget. It was like every birthday and Christmas morning put together! If you don’t have a @sencobrands Screwgun for installing things like this, or drywall, decking etc- you’re majorly missing out. It was such a dream on this project! So much time saved!

Plywood walls meant I could mount anything, anywhere. Well worth the cost!

Am I the only one who still likes playing in dirt?! Show of hands y’all!

I’m not saying the seedlings didn’t get out of control this year, they did- but I’ll be honest- I couldn’t regret it if I tried! In fact, my garden is finally starting to take off this year, and I am so excited to show it to y’all! This will probably be my last round of seeds planted!

The shelves I added into these windows were such a great use of space. Some pretty walnut is always a win, but taking a wasted natural light source and turning it into an indoor greenhouse was probably the best idea I’ve had in a while!

We will be back to building tomorrow- but today I’ll enjoy the makeup free, messy house, big smiles of this moment!

Spring is in fact coming though! And that means we’re tackling a new outdoor modular sectional/planter- and I’m so pumped! What do y’all have planned for spring/summer projects?

Can y’all believe this is pressure treated wood?! It is! Shade Walnut from @prowoodlumber - and it’s even more beautiful in person! There will be plans and more cool information on this wood and how it’s treated to add color without the large delay of staining pressure treated, and how they keep it safe for the garden too!

Wanted to get it all to the back porch, and while that’s time consuming- it’s all part of the build! I only took one mini nap 💤 Used the powerhouse @bora_tool Speed Horses for quick set up and an insane amount of weight support!

Threshold? Outside? Let’s talk about it!

This is easily one of my better random ideas. Before I put the gate in, I wanted to add a threshold for a few reasons- since the chicken run is a space we have to watch with predators, this seemed like one of the easiest ways to add extra protection to the area without adding a bigger headache down the road. Most things are easily damaged or end up being a hazard to use. Trust me- hardware cloth or chicken wire just creates a headache in a spot like this.

Elevated slightly, leveled with my @solameasuringtools 24 inch level, used my @flexpowertoolsna Impact Driver to Drive 5 inch screws- easily my favorite impact right now! I do add a header later on to attach the upper netting to, and create a seal around the gate!
