Application

Truth be told, the key to maintenance is to keep it simple and routine. I try and lubricate our garage doors seasonally. While you can do it more often, I have found every few months to be a good balance and keeps the routine easy to stick too.

First, I wipe the surface down where I will be applying the lubricant. Most users won’t find this necessary, but with the excessive sawdust in my shop, it’s a step I like to take.

I apply a light coating to any areas where metal contacts metal. Every garage door will vary, but hinges, springs, bearings and tracks, and pulleys are all areas I try and pay attention too.

Honestly, that’s pretty much it. It really doesn’t get simpler than that! 

 

My Thoughts

Of all the things I like to spend money on, the day to day things we use, like my Garage Door or my AC, well I would much rather spend the money on a new tool or better yet, save for a rainy day. Plus, really there are very few things more annoying than a garage door squeaking and groaning every time it opens and closes, which for me happens to be about a dozen times a day. The small investment into products like 3-IN-ONE Garage Door Lube is a no brainer.

All in all, I have been really impressed with how easy and quick the entire process is. Sometimes it’s the little things that we can add to our home routine that save us money and some annoyance in the process.
