Father's Day Tool Guild

Father’s Day Tool Guide

Fathers Day is a great time of year to take a step back and thank the dad in your life for all of their awesome support throughout the year! I am super grateful for my Dad’s support and his awesome encouragement of my love for working with my hands! I can honestly say without seeing all of the awesome things I did when I was younger, I may not have ended up woodworking and tackling renovations. So as we all say “Thanks Dad” I decided to put together a list of some top picks of tools I have used throughout the year that I think are not only great buys, but also tools your Dad is sure to love! If you’re struggling to find the perfect gift read on in my Father’s Day Tool Guide.

 ISOTunes-

Father’s Day Tool Guide

If there is one tool you will never see me without, it is my ISOTunes EarBuds! I wear these religiously, whether in the shop, outside working in the yard or taking conference calls to keep my hands free. The OSHA approved hearing protection pulls double duty to keep your hearing safe as well as keep you jamming to your favorite tunes, or answering calls while you work! If your Dad enjoys staying busy, especially around loud Power Tools, ISOTunes are a must!

You can find Isotunes directly from the ISOTunes Website, and you can even save 10% by using the code TOOLGIRL10 ! My personal favorites are the FREE’s, but the XTRA’s and PRO’s stay in my rotation regularly! Plus, they have a sale going on where if you purchase the Free’s, you get a set of XTRA’s for free!

HART Buffer

Father’s Day Tool Guide

Is your Dad a fan of his car or truck? One of the best gifts I ever bought my Dad for Father’s Day was a Buffer. My Dad had bought a new truck, something he only does every ten years or so and I had a million awesome memories of working on my first car together, specifically waxing its old black paint. I think it was the moment I fell in love with elbow grease and realized no matter what something looked like, with a bit of love you could make anything shine! Granted, that was all by hand, but powered buffers definitely make the job so much easier! Even tasks like waxing a truck can be fun, especially when you mix in the right tools!

I’ve had the HART Cordless Buffer for about 4 months, and I have gotten more use out of it than I ever imagined myself! It’s a practical, no-fuss solution to a lot of buffing needs. From buffing finishes on wood projects to buffing out scratches in my truck, it has been a very handy tool to have around. Plus, being cordless makes it more convenient than ever!

You can find the HART Buffer Exclusively at Wal-Mart for $39.00 Bare Tool.

KOBALT Circular Saw

Father’s Day Tool Guide

KOBALT recently launched new tools, their XTR lineup on their 24V platform, and one that really caught my attention was the Circular Saw. There were a few details I loved about it, from the rafter hook, easy adjustments, and all-around solid tool that performs really well. This full-size circular saw holds a 7-1/4 inch blade, giving the same cut capacity as standard circular saws but without the cord. I have been really obseesed with the easy to read miter and bevel gauges and the solid power this saw has. From someone whose Dad is extra skeptical about heavy-duty tools being cordless, this one is sure to put a smile on his face!

The KOBALT XTR Circular Saw can be found at Lowes and is priced really well at $149.00 Bare Tool,  Another great KOBALT value is their 3-piece XTR set, which includes a Hammer Drill, Impact Driver and an LED light, plus they package two batteries in this kit. As an extra bonus, you can get a free XTR 4.0Ah Battery with purchase with select KOBALT purchases. this promotion is active at the time this article was posted.

SKIL Inflator

Father’s Day Tool Guide

Ever had a flat tire? Or maybe a flat basketball? Well, there is nothing worse than hooking up a compressor to a hose, the noise, the wait, just to fix something small.  Thankfully SKIL has a solution in their 12V Inflator.

I have really enjoyed this tool, and actually wrote a full review on it a while back, so for more, check that article out! I have used this inflator constantly since, and find it to be insanely handy! I even recently had a flat tire on my truck, and after changing the tire, I realized my spare was flat too! This is a great tool to keep in your emergency kit, and especially for long road trips, camping, and the like!

You can find the SKIL Cordless Inflator on Amazon for $49.99 Bare Tool.

EGO Blower

Father’s Day Tool Guide

I have been a fan of EGO for a very long time. For my property here in Texas, I rely on their Multi-Head system, Chainsaws, and Blowers almost exclusively. EGO is well known for its battery platform and for making the tools we once thought could only be powered by gas and making them battery-powered without losing performance. It would be almost impossible to use this Blower and not have a smile on your face. With its 185 miles an hour airspeed and 650 CFM, the leaves tend to quiver at the sight of it! Small dirt and debris are also not a match for the power of this blower, making clean up a breeze!

The New EGO Blower is their most powerful yet and has once again changed the game of Battery Powered OPE. Check out their 650 CFM Blower at Home Depot for $299.00 with a 5.0 Ah battery.

Crescent Tapes

Father’s Day Tool Guide

There is nothing I love more than a good measuring tape! Thankfully Crescent knows that and last year launched a line of measuring tapes that you can’t help but love! With two color choices, rugged design, and small details that make it more user friendly than ever, it’s a great choice for a gift your Dad is sure to love!

You can find the Crescent Shockforce Measuring tapes in a variety of lengths- my personal favorite is the 25 ft tapes. You can find two of the 25ft NITE EYE Tapes for $29.98 at Lowe’s.

Bora Centipede

Father’s Day Tool Guide

If your Dad is a fan of projects, grilling, or camping, a centipede is a perfect gift for him! Centipede Tables are a hybrid of everything you love in a sawhorse and everything you love in a portable worktable and married together in a well-designed tool. I have used my Centipedes for virtually everything you can imagine, from temporary painting stations, portable workbenches and assembly spaces, temporary tables for parties, and a million other things. For small shops, these are particularly useful as they store away very well. Set up takes only seconds and you’re ready to get working or playing, with more workspace than before.

You can find the Bora Centipedes on Amazon- with the 2X4 Cenipede coming in at $79.00.

SureCan

Father’s Day Tool Guide

I will say this may be one of the wild cards on the list, but if you’ve ever used a traditional safety gas can you will totally understand. For the tractor, I still rely on good old fashioned gasoline, but safety cans are almost always the worst things to actually operate. When I finally stumbled on the SureCan Gas Can, I was literally blown away. Their design provides all the safety and regulatory measures you need but also keeps it easy and convenient. This is one of those gifts that will save a few curse words along the way!

You can find the SureCan at The Home Depot for $48.97 for a 5-gallon SureCan model.

Bosch Starlock Multi-Tool

Father’s Day Tool Guide

If your Dad is a tool lover, there is a definite win in a Multi-Tool. Bosch specifically is one of my favorites because it combines solid technology and performance with the ease of switching accessories out with their Starlock Mounting system. Everything from cutting molding, demo work, sanding small corners, the Bosch Multi-Tool does it all. It’s one of those musts, especially for the Dad who is always working on something!

You can find the Bosch Starlock Multi-Tool in a range of places- Lowe’s has a cordless model with accessories case for $198.99.  On Amazon you can find the corded version with a hard case and additional accessories for $189.00, with their additional $20 dollar coupon, you can get that set for $169.00.

MicroJig GRRRipper

Father’s Day Tool Guide

I have owned my GRRRipper for two years now, and for someone who has seen loved ones injured on a table saw, it’s a must to do all we can to stay as safe as possible. I reviewed the GRRRipper here on Tool Girl’s Garage over a year ago, and I still love it as much now as I did then! While mine has seen some serious abuse over time it has held up very well. It’s handy and easy to use, and over traditional push sticks, it has a lot of advantages. I find the additional force against the fence is not only safer but gives more accurate cuts too!

You can find the MicroJig GRRRipper on Amazon for $59.00 For the 3D model of the Advanced model which I have, for $96.99 on Amazon as well.
