Ryobi is the king of Homeowner based tools. They have such a wide variety of tools I often find their niche tools are able to appeal to more users than ever before. Today we look at a perfect example of Ryobi pushing their boundaries with a cordless tool that users will find particularly handy. Here we explore this multi-purpose tool in the Ryobi Cordless Soldering Station Review.

Soldering Irons follow a lot of concepts similar to welding but on a much smaller scale. The evolution of the technology behind them has also evolved significantly since their introduction. Here you see a side by side of this Soldering Station compared to a very old Soldering Gun from the ’80s. While Soldering Guns, Soldering Irons, and Soldering Stations all accomplish the same basic functions, their differences lie in layout and often feature set. This Soldering Station from Ryobi combines a lot of features users will appreciate and brings these classic tools into modern times.

Ryobi includes a solid set of features in this tool. Hybrid power option allows the user to use one of Ryobi’s 18V One+ Batteries, or connect a standard plug.

The temperature control allows the user to select a temperature from 300 to 900 degrees, giving a significant amount of versatility to suitable applications.
The LED light gives an easy indication when the iron has reached its desired temperature. It lights Red as it heats, and green when it is ready for use.

A three-foot cord on the iron gives users a significant reach for any task.

The Iron Holder is a huge benefit to this Soldering Station over traditional Soldering Irons and provides a lot of stability.

The Cleaning sponge has a dedicated spot on the station, providing easy access and convenient cleaning during use. The onboard tool storage allows you a way to easily store and access the tips. Ryobi included a fine point and a chisel point tip for versatility.

This Ryobi Set includes two tips, both a chisel and fine point that can be easily switched out by rotating the upper part of the tool.

Ryobi includes their 3-year manufacturer warranty on this tool.

I really have enjoyed this Soldering Station. As I mentioned in the First Look on this tool, I don’t use soldering irons daily, but rather have the occasional use for them. I have used this tool for a variety of applications so far and have been very impressed with its overall quality and performance.
From replacing a fan on a computer using the fine point tip or soldering a joint on a necklace of my daughters it has distinct advantages over other Soldering Irons I have used. The big standouts are how much control the temperature dial lends a user. Also, the variable power is a huge benefit for users, allowing it to be both a corded and a cordless tool.
Much like a lot of Ryobi’s recent launches, I have been impressed with their overall build quality, showing significant improvement from very early launches. The connections are secure, as well as small details like the onboard tool storage and sponge are big pluses in Ryobi’s overall execution. It is often the small details that make all the difference in a users experience, and I definitely think Ryobi aced that goal.
