Vintage Tools seriously have my heart! Went wander Vintage Tools seriously have my heart! Went wandering into a few antique stores today in hopes of finding a perfect furniture restoration project- but instead I came across this little beauty! A rare @stanleytools Bailey 5-1/4 inch Plane. From what I know now- this dates back to the 1930’s as one of the first to have the kidney shaped hole on the lever cap vs the keyhole. It needs some love- but there is something about a vintage tool that you know has it’s own story to tell that just gets me. Romance in its finest form! Did the gross assembly of the Little Library the other day and this @sencobrands 16GA Cordless Finish Nailer is just awesome! Coming from some other cordless nailers, this has a whole lot of oomf and the delay is quite negligible, almost non existent, even with 2-inch nails. I really get a lot of use out of cordless nailers these days! What about y’all?! This #littlelibrary is part of the @thebuilderschallenge #buildforgood initiative with @catfootwear ! I was so excited to get to this point, and even more excited to share how it came together. Sometimes there is an idea in your mind that you see so clearly, and sometimes it comes together just as it should! Sometimes it doesn’t, and sometimes like this, it’s better than I imagined! Weekend project- repair all the back fence. With j Weekend project- repair all the back fence. With just shy of 3 acres, it can be super intimidating to maintain not only the property but the small things that seem to constantly be popping up. Thankfully, this metal fencing was both easy to repair using my @crescent_tool Nippers! We had quite a bit of damaged areas and it worked excellent on both removing the old and rusted material and also cutting the new material too. Always impressed by Crescent’s range of awesome tools! My best advice on more complex cuts - check it, check it twice and then check it one more time to make sure you’re gold- and pray! What do y’all do to ensure those one chance cuts turn out perfect? These white oak counters are almost to the finish These white oak counters are almost to the finish line! I mentioned I glued these up in several phases. A huge part of that is that when we get to the final glue up, the full glue up has only one glue seam to contend with. With a combination of my planer and the drum sander, tackling them this way saves a whole lot of time! I use a carbide scraper from @brand_tools to remove the bulk, and finish the clean up with my card scraper prior to sanding.
