This seems crazy, right?! Here me out! I know wh This seems crazy, right?! Here me out!

I know what you’re thinking- don’t those peel? Sure- but sometimes things still get stuck in the cracks and if the material isn’t dense enough, you may spend an eternity picking small spots off. So- I did what every tool lover does - and I pressure washed them 😉

Honestly it worked great, and it’s not at all to knock the epicness that is silicone mats, sometimes though, the mess just wasn’t big enough 😂 whether it’s epoxy or @titebondproducts - this was a win in my book!

Assembly line in action! Batching is definitely th Assembly line in action! Batching is definitely the way to go- agree or do you have a better way?

Working on the Outdoor Sectional with @prowoodlumber - confirming plans and making a count of each board measurement needed and how many makes the process so much quicker! This wood is so beautiful, even more so in person! I definitely think the time savings of having it pre stained makes a build like this so much more satisfying because it’s pretty instantly- no long wait with green wokd! Plus, since it’s treated- we’re giving as much protection to the elements as possible!

Triple check the blade to make sure it’s square, measure and measure again! I use my @crescent_tool Shockforce tapes, and always use the same one to be sure measurements stay accurate!

Installed the makeshift stop block mounted on the @bora_tool Portamate, check again and we’re ready to rock!

What’s a moment you’ll never forget? My daught What’s a moment you’ll never forget? My daughter took these pictures, and I wanted to share this story!

My daughter, Abigail, often watches me work. She also asks a lot of questions, which is pretty awesome! She had so many questions this time, what are you doing? What’s the red wire go to? What does that thing do? Is that hard?

I answered all of these, but the best question was- How did you learn how to do this? I explained that some go to a trade school just for this, or apprentice under someone to learn, some learn from their family, some are born with a knack for certain things, and some just pick up and do. We fail and try again because it’s just who we are. I learned from my Dad mostly, but I also just love learning and understanding things- fixing something or building things is just embedded in my bones.

We’ve had these talks so many times, but it was so detailed this time. Now- I’m no electrician, but I know my way around too.

She is emphatic that she now wants to be a Woodworker like me, a Special Education teacher, a Ninja Warrior and an electrical engineer. She’s 9 so she has time to whittle it down, but her reasoning is that she wants to be able to fix things like me. And y’all- I didn’t know what to say other than “if anyone can do all of that, it’s you!

She had asked to play with my phone, and later on, I saw she had taken at least 200 photos of me working, and 50 of them were of my elbows, scattered with fingers over lenses, and more than a few selfies.

Praying this little lady one day owns her own collection of tools and pursues whatever makes her passionate. Teach your kids about joining the trades, we need more of them!

So fresh and so clean, clean! 🎶 There are very So fresh and so clean, clean! 🎶 There are very few things more satisfying than a good pressure washing!

Before starting the outdoor build with @prowoodlumber I knew this concrete needed one heck of a bath. Quick blow with the @egopowerplus blower and then I pulled out the @craftsman 2400 PSI Pressure Washer and used a turbo nozzle. I consistently have to direct the dirt out to keep it from just moving. Once most is removed, I finish up with a surface attachment to make sure nothing is missed. Believe it or not, we have to clean this several times a year, especially when we’re getting a lot of rain.

One of the next things on my list back here is to install a deck over the existing concrete patio- it’s about a thousand square feet so it’ll be a big job! I’ll have to level this out first to prevent the water from pooling as it has since we bought the house, but I know it’ll be worth it! As much as concrete has its place, it’s hard to love seeing so much of it as soon as you enter your backyard.

In case you needed to hear this- you can only be s In case you needed to hear this- you can only be stopped if you allow yourself to be stopped. Don’t give up, no matter what!

The feeling of mounting the first piece of plywood on my shop walls two years ago was a feeling I’ll never forget. It was like every birthday and Christmas morning put together! If you don’t have a @sencobrands Screwgun for installing things like this, or drywall, decking etc- you’re majorly missing out. It was such a dream on this project! So much time saved!

Plywood walls meant I could mount anything, anywhere. Well worth the cost!

Am I the only one who still likes playing in dirt? Am I the only one who still likes playing in dirt?! Show of hands y’all!

I’m not saying the seedlings didn’t get out of control this year, they did- but I’ll be honest- I couldn’t regret it if I tried! In fact, my garden is finally starting to take off this year, and I am so excited to show it to y’all! This will probably be my last round of seeds planted!

The shelves I added into these windows were such a great use of space. Some pretty walnut is always a win, but taking a wasted natural light source and turning it into an indoor greenhouse was probably the best idea I’ve had in a while!

We will be back to building tomorrow- but today I’ll enjoy the makeup free, messy house, big smiles of this moment!
