Portable Workbenches are a must for professional contractors. The ability to easily store a work table in a truck or van for traveling is important, as is the ability to create a portable workspace no matter what the job site requires. Portable Workbenches were once purely sawhorses and a sheet of plywood, but today they offer so much more. Each type has specific advantages, and this Portable Workbench from DeWalt is a great example of easy portability and versatility. Let’s break this option down in the DeWalt Portable Workbench Review.

A Little about the Brand-

DeWalt is well known for its tool staples, and for putting the needs of professionals at the top of their list. Since the company was started in 1923, with a Radial Arm Saw, DeWalt has gone through a lot of changes. They are now owned by Stanley Black and Decker, the parent company to quite a few tool manufacturers. Today, DeWalt is known especially for their woodworking tools, such as Routers, Planers, and Saws of all types. Their cordless technology, like FlexVolt, is also a well-loved line from DeWalt that offers significant performance from power-hungry tools.

DeWalt included some truly awesome features in this Portable Workbench that make it extremely appealing for users of all trades.

The easy set up is a standout. At first, I found it slightly awkward, but once I got the hang of how to do it properly, set up is a breeze. Simply push the yellow button and push the side handle in and the legs will open. The design of this mechanism is simple and effective.

My favorite feature is the holes for easy clamp attachment. A total of 31 holes are present in the table top, as well as four slots that allow you to adjust a clamp easily based on need. Additionally, these slots create an effective way to mount tools too, something I think is often skipped in Portable Workbenches. These mounting options allow a wide range of users to get the most out of this table. Clamps offer an incredible amount of support both to workpieces as well as some benchtop tools.

Additional Holes on the sides offer even more clamping options to this Workbench.

The size of the Workbench both open and collapsed is well thought out. When open, you have sufficient workspace for virtually any tool or use.

When collapsed you have a very compact tool that is easy to haul around. Since a Portable Workbench is designed to be, well, portable, these stand out as accomplishing this tools main goal.

The Handles are easy to grab and grip, and having one on the side as well as the front allows versatility in how you store it as well.

This Workbench can support 1000 pounds. Without a doubt, the vast majority of users won’t need this full capacity, but in some cases with heavy materials or tools, this is a significant benefit.

Who Can Use This-

This is actually a very hybrid tool. Professionals will love the clamp holes as well as the lightweight and size. It is strong, sure and allows quick set up no matter what your needs are. While I focus quite a bit on the features that will benefit a professional user, workbenches like this greatly benefit the average homeowner too. You have a quick and easy workspace that can be stored easily. It is compact and strong, making it a truly versatile tool. For users with limited space, this DeWalt Portable Workbench fits the bill.

Value-

This Portable Workbench can be purchased at a number of retailers. The Home Depot offers this DeWalt Portable Workbench for $99.99. I think this is an excellent value overall. I have used several Portable Workbenches over the years, but this one from DeWalt stands out for its performance and features.

Wrap Up-

Portable Workbenches are plentiful on the market. By no means are you limited to any one brand or style when shopping for a tool like this. To me though, this option from DeWalt checks every box you could need and then some. I love the weight and size overall, as well as its easy portability. Setting the table up is simple once you get the mechanism down and the table is stable and sure, something important when you need stability. I think DeWalt priced it fairly as well, bringing this tool in at a competitive price point. If you are in the market for a new workbench, I would definitely take a look at this DeWalt Portable Workbench.
